Product Details
The Rockhound and Prospector’s Bible began as lecture notes for adult evening education classes in the mid-1970s at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. IN early 1977, over a period of three weeks, the lecture notes were reworked into a first draft. A few hundred copies were first published in early 1980s and titled, “Home Study Guide to Rocks, minerals, and Prospecting.” These first copies were done as an 8 ˝ by 11 inch spiral bound book.

In 1985 a first edition of 570 books was printed as a 6 by 9 inch book titled “The Rockhound and Prospector’s Bible.” The cover on this edition depicted the old prospector panning for fold which is now on the inside title page. In January of 1987, the second edition of 4,764 books was printed using the cover that exists today.

In November of 1992, 3,300 third edition books were printed. In March of 1996, 3,248 (third edition) books were reprinted which sold out in mid-2002. “The Bible” has been out of print until this 2009 “third reprint of the third edition.”

In this book you find the history of rocks and minerals, how to identify them.
